Obituary of Maurice Pilon
Passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus on June 24, 2020 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Doris O’Reilly for 59 years. Loving father to Dennis (Kelly), Greg (Julie Laroche), late James, Nancy (Rick Hughes) and late Thomas. Maurice will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Alex, Kendra, Rachel, Olivia, Emily and Jenny.
Maurice was born in Otter Lake, Quebec on June 1st, 1933 to the late Felix Pilon and the late Emma Normandeau. He was the loving brother of Richard (Yvette) and Alice Sirosky (late Jim). Predeceased by siblings; Emerilda, Gedeon, Geraldine, Leo, Rheal, Romeo and Theo. He was a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus.
Maurice spent most of his life in the Pontiac. Along with his brothers, Leo and Theo, they ran Pilon Garage Inc. from 1956 to 1979 eventually adding a GM dealership. Maurice retired from the MRC de Pontiac in 1998 after 17 years as manager of the License Bureau in Campbell’s Bay.
Maurice spent the last five years at The Ravines in Ottawa, Ontario, to be closer to his children. He will be sadly missed by extended family and friends. He was well liked by many people in the Pontiac, always taking time to stop and have a chat. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the palliative care unit at the Civic Hospital for their excellent care given. Funeral Mass will be conducted in St. John the Evangelist Church, Campbell’s Bay, Quebec in private and by invitation only. Interment parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
