Marta Anena Opiny passed away suddenly on July 9, 2020 in her home at the age of 26. Marta was a beautiful daughter, sister and friend to many and leaves behind an abundance of memories of her unpredictable, independent, expressive spirit. Marta was born on December 18, 1993 to Justin and Christine in Bweyale, Uganda. In 1995, She and her family immigrated to Kitchener, Ontario, where she grew up alongside her siblings, kevina Aber Opiny, Palma Achola Smalling, Joyce Achayo Opiny, Sunday Zendia Opiny, Kenneth Bongomin Opiny & Emanuela Anek Opiny. She was also a playful, supportive and loving aunt to JJ Adigun, Jadiah Adigun, Michael Smalling & Gabriella Smalling.
Marta was an adventurous spirit that thrived on new ideas and constant change, high-spirited, congenial and a gifted conversationalist. Naturally these qualities led her to embrace a career in cosmetology. Her straightforward, honest and frank approach ensured her clients left with a renewed boost of confidence, self-esteem and of course looking good. Always one to experiment with new designs, techniques and styles, Marta was a walking billboard for her craft, always admired for her beauty and unique sense of style everywhere she went.
Blessed with an energy for exploration and discovery, Marta approached life with an in-depth intensity in a quest for greater meaning, purpose and fulfillment. Always the seeker of truth and reason behind all things, she used her love of spirituality, Astrology, numerology and philosophy to add a new dimension to life. She encouraged all those around her to truly look within and discover that which ignites their inner fire, for the more alive, vibrate and truly ourselves we are in the world, the more we spark our spirits and awaken our hearts to new experiences.
Marta’s family will receive relatives and friends from 6pm to 8pm on Friday July, 17, 2020 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. An invitation only funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Kingdom Community International at 11am followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery. However, those who are unable to attend the service are invited to view Marta’s service via live-stream at www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming.
Relatives and friends must RSVP to attend Marta’s visitation through the funeral home website or by calling 519-749-8467. Please note, wearing a face mask is mandatory to attend Marta’s visitation and service.
