It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mark on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the age of 59.
He devoted his life to his wife and children. Beloved husband of Jennifer (nee Rockel) for 32 years. Wonderful father to Christopher (Alyssa), Laura (Kyle-Patrick) and Ryan (Katie) and energetic grandfather to Theo.
Cherished son of Donald and Carolyn (nee Spellman) Fedy.
Dear brother of Robert (Darla), David (Krista) and Mary Jo Fedy (Bill Gilmore). Uncle of Danielle, Dayna, Darcelle, Andrew and Jonathan. Loving son-in-law of Bruce and Barbara Rockel. Brother-in-law of John (Jennifer) Rockel.
He is fondly remembered by his many relatives and friends, especially his cousin Tim (Cathy) Fedy.
Mark was a high school teacher in Waterloo Region for over 30 years where he influenced many students with his sense of humour, caring and laid back attitude. He always kept busy with at least one project on the go. His favourite place on earth to be was with his family and friends at the blue cottage in Southcott Pines, Grand Bend. His love of golf, working out, and fixing anything that was broken made him a busy and fulfilled man. He enjoyed the beach and celebrating happy hour at 5 o’clock sharp. His zest for life was obvious to all who knew him.
Mark’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 4pm-8pm and Friday, December 18, 2020 from 1pm-4pm. Guests shall RSVP to attend visitation and are reminded that masks are mandatory. A Private Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Waterloo. Extended family and friends may view his Funeral Mass via livestream on Saturday at 12:30pm at www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming . Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Clarke Young Legacy Fund (in support of youth participation in sports) would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
