Marilyn Louise Scott December 30 1941 – November 11 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving Mother, Grandmother, Wife, big sister and friend, Marilyn Scott in the early morning of November 11th, 2020 in Victoria.
Born in Sudbury Ontario on December 30th, 1941 to her late parents Marjorie and Nicholas Bludoff, sister Joyce and stepfather Jack Hewer. Predeceased by her loving Husband Corey Grant Scott, who passed away in 2004. She is survived by her partner of 12 years, Wolfgang Paper; son Corey Scott and his wife Corynn, along with their kids Rylie and Quinn; son Kyle Scott and his kids Khloe and Levi along with his Fiancé Jamie and their son Maverick. She was also a grandmother figure to Wolfgang’s grandchildren Halle and Jadyn.
Marilyn and her family moved from Sudbury to Vancouver and finally settling in Victoria where Marilyn attended Vic High. Marilyn was introduced to Corey by her best friend Shirley Gibson. The two were soon married on Nov 8th, 1975. Two years later they adopted their son Corey and then 4 years later adopting their second son, Kyle. Marilyn’s Sons meant everything to her, and she was such a generous, loving mother who would do anything for her boys. Her family lived most of their years in Victoria in the family home in Saanich. Marilyn was the rock of the Scott family keeping her boys out of as much trouble as possible. She loved her husband Corey and they shared an incredible bond, she always ensured Corey had a robust honeydew list on the go. Being the matriarch of the family, she was always hosting Holiday gatherings and cooking far too much food. Weekends and summers were spent with family at Parksville and later in life at their retreat in East Sooke at Cheanuh Marina.
After the sudden passing of her beloved husband Corey, Marilyn spent a couple of years reconnecting with old friends and her past workmates from Royal trust.
12 years ago, her best friend Shirley was able to convince her to try and meet someone new. She soon met Wolfgang and they spent the remainder of her life together. Their love was strong and created many memories together. They both shared the same passion for gardening and renovating, creating a beautiful new home together. Wolfgang and Marilyn travelled together seeing the Panama Canal, the Caribbean and spent winters vacationing in Cabo. Summers were spent gardening, visiting with out of town friends and small trips around BC with Loraine, Brian, Shirley and Dell.
This chapter of her life was also filled with Marilyn’s greatest joy, her grandchildren. She loved taking her oldest granddaughter, Khloe swimming and for sleepovers. Marilyn was always known for spoiling her Grandkids at birthdays and Christmas. Her ability to know all the hottest toy trends and just what each child wanted as well as unique and personal gifts that would amaze us all. Most importantly she loved just getting to bake and spend time with the entire family.
Marilyn lived a beautiful life, never taking anything for granted. We will all miss her humour, love of life, and ability to find the positive. Marilyn was the light to so many and the family appreciates all the fond memories expressed to them during this time.
