Maria Marchesin

Obituary
MARCHESIN, Maria (nee Carnelos)
March 24, 1936 – April 30, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the beautiful Maria Marchesin, peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Maria is now at peace with the love of her life, Antonio “Tony”. Cherished mother of Dina Groh (Geoff). Devoted Nonna to Brad Caille (Amanda), Tanya Steer (Ryan), Melissa Caille (Eric), and Biznonna to Easton, Ellie and baby Steer to come. Loving sister to Anna Barichello (Gilbert) and Tony Carnelos. Zia to Michael Barichello (Christine), Steven Barichello (Anna), Timmy Barichello (Maria), Lisa Carnelos (Brad) and Susanne Carnelos.
Maria was known for her impeccable cooking and gardening skills and she lived with a relentless dedication to those she loved. Even in her final days, her life was one of unwavering faith in God, unmatched work ethic, and continual selflessness. Maria’s family and friends served as the cardinal inspiration for a life of love and gratitude. Never one to shy away from saying what needed to be said, Maria was always the beacon of light that her loved ones came to rely upon. She will be dearly missed by her close friends and family.
She was a proud Italian woman who belonged to the Veneti Club, Trevisani Del Mondo and Italian Women’s Club G. Caboto. She was a dedicated employee of Wrigley Steel Company, Olsonito & Sheller Glode. The family would like give a special thanks to Pam for the many years of caregiving she gave to Maria and Tony, to the VON nurses Susan and Jennifer for making her final days comfortable and thank you to hospice Dr. Bergeron.
A private visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel) 519-253-7234. Committal service and entombment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
If desired, donations may be made to the Hospice of Windsor and Es County online at www.thehospice.ca/donations or mailed to: 6038 Empress St, Windsor, ON N8T 1B5.
The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has instituted the following directive: “The new maximum number of people who can be at a funeral home at one time (not including staff) is 10 or fewer. This pertains to the entire funeral home.”
