Obituary of Margaret De Clerk
On Saturday October 17th, 2020, Margaretha Maria Sybrechta De Clerk (née Zeinstra) born on November 21st, 1953, and known to friends and family as Margaret, passed away. She will be greatly missed by husband Marcel and children Derek (wife Rochelle, children Madalyn, Brielle), Moe (wife Rebecca, children Wyatt, Savayra, Ignatius, Augustine), Karen (husband Dan, children Mathilda, Eleanor, Atticus, Penelope) and Bryce (children Myrah, Zander, Eliya). Pre-deceased by parents Maurits Zeinstra and Catharina Zeinstra (née Vanderwerf), and by brother Dirk Zeinstra. Survived by siblings: Brent (MaryLynn) Zeinstra, Jack (Beth) Zeinstra, Grace (Kim) Lennox, Maria) Michael) Zeinstra-Dye, Maurice Zeinstra, and Brian (Jenny) Zeinstra. Margaret taught for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board for over 35 years and has been very involved in St. Paul’s parish through Cursillo, choir and the CWL. She will be remembered as a budding photographer, a wonderful cook, an avid home-canner and herb-gardener. The grandchildren will remember spending time with Granny at the beach and ending the day with an ice-cream sandwich. Margaret had a strong faith and shared her home and heart readily with others. As Margaret would say “God is good to us”. We encourage you to share your love for Margaret by saying a prayer for her. May God Bless.

  1. To Marcel and your family. Stephen and I were both shocked and deeply saddened in hearing of Margaret’s passing. We remember the great day when first meeting you both. We felt your warmth and welcoming hearts immediately. We always enjoyed gabbing with you both. We’re so very sorry. Please know that you and yours will always be welcomed in our home.
