Margaret’s Obituary
Roache, Margaret Latissia, 82 – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Latissia Roache on Monday, September 21st at the Dartmouth General Hospital following a brief illness. She was surrounded by love as she passed away with her family by her side. Born in Lockeport, NS, Margaret was the eldest daughter of the late Nicholas and Ada (Hallett) Holland of Lydgate. Margaret was pre-deceased by a daughter, Shirley, her beloved husband Ernest and daughter-in-law Debbie Roache all of whom she now joins in Heaven with her Lord by her side. She is survived by her son Freeland, Lower Sackville and her daughters, Sandra Westergreen (John) of Abbotsford BC, Glenda Groom (Michael) and Sonja Mosher (Stephen), both of Dartmouth. She is also survived by her brother Hilbert Holland, Osborne and sisters Ida Williams (Preston), Lockeport and Brenda Hallett, Lydgate. Margaret was a fierce protector and advocate for her children and was extremely proud of all her grandchildren, Jolene, Justin, Jordan, Robyn, Nicholas, Holly, Amanda, Laryn and Danika as well as her great-grandchildren, James, Noah, Avery and Katie, Lyla and Owen. She was fiercely independent and was a creative soul, reveling in sewing, making stuffed animals, knitting and crocheting and passionately loved her cat Tinkerbell. During her life she worked as a fisherman alongside her husband and later as a personal care worker taking care of the elderly. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium Ltd. A visitation will be held in H.M. Huskilsons Funeral Chapel, Lockeport Wednesday September 23, 2020 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Service to be held on Thursday September 24, 2020 from the Lockeport Pentecostal Church for Family Members due to COVID restrictions. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideon International Bibles or to Bide-a-While animal shelter in Dartmouth. On-line condolences may be left for the family at www.huskilson.net
