Obituary of Lloyd Clease
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lloyd William Clease, a long-time resident of Dawson Creek BC at the age of 58 Years with his family by his side.
Lloyd was born June 5, 1962 in Dawson Creek and lived the first eight years of his life there. The family moved on to McKenzie and Fort Nelson before returning to Dawson Creek in December 1975.
Lloyd was always very active, participating in speed skating, hockey, skiing, snowmobiling, and driving anything with a motor. Lloyd took an active part on the farm with his dad Dwain and Grandpa Vandergrift. He was driving all the equipment long before he should have been!
Lloyd met Sharon Hall in 1978 and they have been a team ever since. They married in 1982 and started their family with the arrival of Breena in 1984, followed by Tyson in 1986 and Tanille in 1989. Lloyd loved being a dad and playing hard with the kids (being just a big kid himself).
Lloyd played broomball for several years and made many lifelong friends. Camping and racing cars while the kids were young kept everyone very busy.
Classic vehicles were one of Lloyd’s passions. He still had his very first vehicle he ever had, a 1967 Ford Pick Up. He spent many hours rebuilding that truck as well as the 1954 Chev pick up. Doing the work with friends made it even more fun!
Lloyd was well known to be a very hard and dedicated worker. His biggest concern always was providing for his family. He started working for Dice Petroleum in 1984 and he and Sharon bought out their partners in 2005 and took over. Lloyd made the business thrive and built a good name for himself in the industry. Tyson and Erin bought into the business in 2010 and Lloyd was so proud to have them as partners. Lloyd could be a tough boss, but he always thought of his employees as family.
Lloyd and Sharon were blessed with three bonus children when Tyson married Erin Tennisco in 2010, Breena married Stephen Beirnes in 2012 and Tanille married Travis Jessen in 2015. Lloyd loved his daughter-in-law and sons-in-law the same as his children. He was very proud of his children in every way.
The next stage of life for Lloyd was one of his favorites – the arrival of grandchildren! Tristyn made him a first time Papa in 2011, followed by Kendal in 2014, Weston and Hailey in 2017, Avery in 2019 and Navy in 2020. Lloyd absolutely loved being Papa to these wonderful children. His eyes would light up when they were around, and he would get right on the ground to play with them or just let them crawl all over him. He would take the kids for Razor rides and terrorize them in the best way. He was the biggest tease, but Tristyn says he was the BEST Papa!
Lloyd began getting sick in 2017 which was hard on him as he could not do the things he loved to do. He still very much-loved being with his family and friends. The last six weeks of Lloyd’s life were extremely hard for him and his family. He put up a very strong fight but at last it was time to let go. Lloyd left behind a strong legacy and he will be very loved and missed forever.
