Lloyd E Tompkins 19432020

Lloyd E. Tompkins
1943-2020
It is with deep sadness that the family of Lloyd Eldon
Tompkins of Hanwell, NB, announces his passing on Wednesday, May 27,
2020. Lloyd was born in Woodstock, NB, on May 27, 1943, a son of the
late Ashley H. and Elva M. (Collier) Tompkins. In addition to his
parents, Lloyd was predeceased by his brother Roy, a niece Vicki
Tompkins-Murray, and father-in-law Jack Stephens.
Lloyd was a well respected and dedicated car salesman for
many years and later became a much-loved School Bus Driver. Lloyd had
a great appreciation for the great outdoors and enjoyed the many years
spent with family and friends at the family cottage at Lake George. He
loved his camping life and camping family but also loved to water ski,
go boating on the lake and go 4 wheeling and snow mobiling with his
friends. A sports enthusiast at heart, he loved baseball and playing
hockey. He was co-founder of the Atlantic Rentals Hockey Team and the
Old Timers Riverview Cougars. Lloyd was Wesleyan by
faith.
Lloyd is survived by the love of his life, Marie (Stephens),
his devoted companion for 58 years. He is also survived by his
mother-in-law Jean Stephens who is 100 years old. He fully supported
his family in every way possible and was very proud of his sons, Tony,
Troy (Debbie), Ricky (Lynn) and Timmy. His four grandchildren,
Jocelynn, Jessica Davis (Matt), Justin and Zack always brought a smile
to his face as did his great-grandchildren, Brandon, Alexandria, Zoe
and Mason. He will be greatly missed by his only surviving sibling,
Candyce Johnson; sister-in-law, Elaine Tompkins as well as a number of
nephews and their families.
Due to the Covid-19 health crisis, there will be no public
visitation. A celebration of life will take place at a later
date.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions be sent to the NB Extra-Mural Program, The War Amps or
to a charity of your choice.
Lloyd’s family wish to express their gratitude to
their friends and neighbours for their kindness and support.
