Urquhart, Lesley Ann ‘Bunny’ of
West Bay Age 73. It is with profound sadness that the family of Bunny
announces her passing in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on Sunday,
February, 16 2020. Born in Antigonish she was a daughter of the late
William Spalding and Blanche Hazel (Peeples) Urquhart. Bunny loved
children; she was a warm and nurturing early childhood educator. She
also worked at Leeside Transition House for 20 years and was a member
of West Bay United Church. She was the last surviving member of her
immediate family.
Bunny is survived by her daughters, Lena (Joey) Martell,
Halifax; Heather (Len) Hart, Port Hawkesbury; son, Les (Heidi) and
grandson, Cohen, West Bay; grandchildren, Madison, Brett, Lydia,
Rowan, Kale, Callie, Keira. She was predeceased by her sisters, Joan
Spurrell and Catherine White; her husband, Neil.
Special thanks to Dr. Jim Collins, the nurses and staff at
Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home for the exceptional care given to our
mother.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19 from 2-4
and 6-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 20 from West
Bay United Church, West Bay, with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating.
Burial in Black River Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only,
please.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Bunny to Leeside
Society, Port Hawkesbury or a charity of your choice. Words of comfort
