It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Kenneth Weldon Pleadwell on August 9, 2020.
Ken will be greatly missed by his wife and best friend Karen (nee Hayter) of 59 years, and his three sons Kevin (Kim deceased) (Michelle Houlihan Gouthro), Jeffrey (Pierre Boudreau), and Norman (Bonnie). His grandchildren , Melanie Landry, Amanda Keddy (Dan), Scott Pleadwell, Kara Pleadwell (Shaun), Laura Pleadwell (Robert) and Emily Lancaster (Brian). Ken had 4 great grandchildren, Kole, Harley, Carter and Rylee.
Brother of Harry Pleadwell (Lillian), Faye Schultz ( Allan Borden ), Lois Burke (Darrel deceased) Georgie McCallum (Vincent) all from New Brunswick.
Predeceased by his parents Weldon and Georgina Pleadwell (nee Gallan) of Upper Derby, New Brunswick.
Ken served with the Canadian Armed Forces from 1959 – 1972 in London, Montreal, Germany and Petawawa.
From there he owned and operated Pleadwell’s Esso in Petawawa from 1972 – 1988 where he worked alongside with his wife Karen and their three sons. From 1988 to retirement he worked for Canadian Forces Petawawa as a Civil Servant, Mechanical Supervisor.
Ken was most proud of his service to the Town of Petawawa, where he served as Councilor and Deputy Reeve for 27 consecutive years.
Respecting Ken’s wishes cremation has taken place. His ashes will be laid to rest at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa.
