Karl Merlyn Smith
Karl Merlyn Smith – 78, Truro, passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2020. Born in Stewiacke, he was a son of the late Walter Smith and the late Violet (Johnson) Smith.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Elda (Bonnell) and their children, Merlyn (Mary Ellen), Valley; Krista (Terry) Smith-Davis, Alton, Michael (Sandra Perry), Truro; grandsons, Drew and Lucas; sisters, Darlene (Jim) Weir, Karen Taylor (Robert Chisholm), Wanda Graham; brothers, James “Everett”, John, Lowell (Linda), Dale; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by twin brother, Keith; brother, Kevin; sister, Betty Drolet.
A special thank you to the VON and Palliative Care Team, they all made things more comfortable for him.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 2 at 2pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Andrew Campbell officiating. Interment to follow in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Guests are asked to wear a mask and Covid-19 precautions will be in place. If so desired, donations in Karl’s memory may be made to VON Palliative Care.
