Joyce Muriel McCuish February 14th 2020

Joyce Muriel McCuish passed away at the Calgary South Health Campus on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Joyce was born on August 12, 1922 at the family home near Watts, Alberta in the Hanna area. She attended school in that area before leaving to join the WWII effort as a member of the CWAC. After the war she attended the University of Manitoba and obtained a degree in Architecture. She moved to Ottawa in 1952 where she found a position with the Department of National Defense. Joyce transferred to the Department of Transport a few years after that where she remained until she retired. Joyce enjoyed golf, travel, and continuous learning during her working life. Joyce moved to Calgary in 2001 and from that time forward she lived near her sisters Jean, Joan and Betty. During those years the sisters spent considerable time together. Joyce is survived by her sisters Joan and Margaret. Joyce was predeceased by her brothers Aubrey and Malcolm and her sisters Jean, Betty and Lois. A Memorial Service for Joyce will be held at Atria Canyon Meadows (in the activity room), 12 Deerview Terrace SE, Calgary, AB on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 3:30 p.m.
