Joan Herschorn
A Dedicated and Gifted Musician
On Thursday, December 3, 2002, at the age of 80, due to complications resulting from COVID-19. Beloved daughter of the late Norman and the late Gertrude Herschorn. Born in Montreal, Joan debuted on the music scene with performances locally, nationally and internationally, garnering a number of prestigious awards. Her father was the first violinist of the MSO, her mother was a founding member of the first Woman’s Orchestra in Montreal. Music was their life. As a member of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra for over 40 years, she travelled the world. Joan loved food, fashion, and laughter. She enjoyed her home which she shared with her beloved dogs and cat in NDG. Remembered as stylish with a love of color, Joan leaves behind her cousin Marion Testart, and Marion’s children, Jennifer, Jonathan and Helen; and her grandchildren, Elise, Amanda, Evan, and Vassia. Special thanks to the staff at CHSLD West Island Manor for their care and kindness. A private graveside service will take place on Friday, December 18, 2020. Contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to Alzheimer Groupe, A.G.I, (514) 485-7233.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Joan Herschorn 2020..
