In Loving Memory of Janey Elizabeth Laino, 58 years. October 5th, 1962 – December 23rd, 2020.
Today, Jesus held out His hand to me, and I reached for it. Do not be sad, because now I am free to run, dance, and sing to my heart’s content. Remember me with a smile. I have loved you all to the moon and back.
I am with my parents, Michele “Mike” and Luisa Laino. I leave behind my sisters, Beatrice Pigozzo (Benvenuto, predeceased), Ada Petretti (Mauro, predeceased), and my brother Antonio “Tony” (Maria Grazia); my nieces and nephews, Diane (Robert Bussolaro; Alec, Michela), Michael Pigozzo (Meghan; Katherine, Benjamin), Steven Pigozzo, David Laino, Jennifer Petretti, and Sarah Petretti; my aunt Rita (Enrico Laino, predeceased), Mario, Roberto, Nina, and their families; my aunt Rosa (Vito Aulicino), Ralph, Anthony, and their families; along with aunts and cousins in Italy and Argentina.
I wish to thank my caregivers since age 12 for their genuine love and excellent care, beginning in Kitchener (Sunbeam Lodge, John and Shabnam Vos), the Campbell Place in Sault Ste Marie, and Christian Horizons in Sudbury. Thank you to the Handi Transit drivers who took me to family gatherings, the Caruso Club, the Parkside, picnics at Ramsey Lake, trips to Adele Samson Centre, my Day Program, for appointments, and then back home safe and sound. Thank you to all the medical professionals who through their caring and compassion made me feel comfortable during my stay at the hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Christian Horizons, House 6 would be appreciated. Family Funeral Service at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury; Tuesday, December 29th, 2020 at 11am. Interment in the family plot at the Park Lawn Cemetery. No public visitation. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only family will attend the service.
