Obituary of James Barry McGee
Sadly, we announce the passing of James Barry McGee on December 9, 2020 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC), peacefully with family at his side, having lost a battle with pancreatic cancer. Jim remained optimistic and courageous throughout. Jim was born in Toronto, and was the beloved husband of Nancy McGee, loving father of Lauren, and Kelly (Mike). Jim is the son of Eileen and the late Roderick McGee, brother to Glen, Susan and Sandra. Jim was a graduate of Trent University, where he & Nancy met 51 years ago. His career in sales and marketing spanned such companies as Xerox, AES Data, Honeywell Information Systems, Rolm (IBM), Ericsson, Teklogix and Lucent (Avaya}. His first love was his family, and his favourite place was the cottage, first in Haliburton and currently on Stoney Lake. Jim will be missed by his family & the many friends he collected over his 72 years, but lives on through his daughters & his many stories and quips. We hope to celebrate his life in the summer of 2021 if gathering becomes possible again. We thank Jim’s responsive medical team at Medcan, and the caring oncology, emergency and palliative teams at PRHC, and would ask that anyone considering a memorial donation, consider PRHC, or wherever you personally see a need, in these difficult times.
