November 25, 1930 – December 26, 2020
James Stanley Backstrom passed away at Willow Creek Continuing Care Home on December 26, 2020 at the age of 90 years.
He was predeceased by his son Patrick. James is survived by his loving wife Yvonne, sister Jessie Deacon, sons Brian and Perry, daughters Brenda and Wendy, stepdaughter Donna and step sons Douglas, Dean and Danny and 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Jim was born on November 25, 1930 in Edmonton.
He worked for CP rail for 15 years in Edmonton and became a barber and retired from this career.
Jim loved to downhill ski and particularly Castle Mountain but has skiied at Fernie, Banff, Jasper and Lake Louise.
Jim loved to tinker in his garage and work in his yard. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping with his wife Yvonne.
Jim was a very generous and kind hearted man and a very good husband to Yvonne.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses and staff at Willow Creek Continuing Care Home.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held on December 30, 2020 at Zentner Funeral homes – Claresholm, Alberta
.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Porcupine Hills Lodge in Claresholm – Box 790, Claresholm, Alberta – T0L 0T0
