Hilde Schurhoff
1935 – 2020
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Mom & Oma. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 85.
She is predeceased by her husband Lutz Schurhoff (2009), her parents Maria & Valentin Soja and brother Hans Soja.
She leaves behind her daughter Cindy, son in law Jim & her grandson, Dustin whom she thought the world of. She is also survived by her sisters Anna Hausner and Kate Biernat.
She was born in Wadenbrunn, Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1952 without her family at the age of 17. In 1959 she met Lutz Schurhoff in Hornepayne, Ontario and they were married there in 1961. They moved to Thompson, Manitoba in 1963, where they lived until 1988. In 1986 she attended the University of Brandon & obtained her Social Work degree, she worked in the field for several years.
Hilde always lived her life to the fullest. She travelled to many places in the world. She was known for her classy style and always dressed to the nines in beautiful outfits. She loved spending time with her family & friends, shopping, fine dining, flowers, hosting dinner parties, attending fashion shows & dancing. She also enjoyed baking and crocheting. Hilde was loved by many; she was a very giving person and was always willing to help her family and friends.
We love her very much & she will be extremely missed.
