Herbert Cooner
(Herbie)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Herbie, peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the age of ninety-three. Beloved and loyal husband of Naomi Zelman for over 67 years. He will be forever loved, adored and cherished by his daughter and best friend Bailey and her husband Jim Gill for his heart of gold. Devoted father and father-in-law of Steven and Helen Cooner. Predeceased by his dear parents Rose Backman and Joe Cooner; and brother Saul Cooner (Judy). He will be greatly missed by his incredible and devoted sisters Anne (the late Leon Cooper), Estelle Kahan and Bernice Yancovich (Harold) and his many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Ralph and Victor for being so amazing. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his many friends and loved ones. Forever remembered for his love of family, optimism, energy and especially his kind and gentle spirit. Herbie built a successful business on the Main and after retirement he enjoyed travel, sampling trendy new restaurants, walking his beloved Mazie, and camaraderie at the men’s club A private graveside service will take place.
