Houston: Helen Eileene (Wells) –
Helen Eileene Houston died peacefully in her home on August, 25, 2020 at the age of 93.
Born in Dresden, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Lela (Richards) Wells.
Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Charles Houston (2003).
Dear Mom to Garry (Bernadette) Houston, Melville, Sask.; Tom (Nancy) Houston, Chatham; and Paul (Sharon) Houston of Chatham.
Very proud Grandma of 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Sister of Dorothy (the late Kenneth) Shaw and the late Douglas (Jean) Wells.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Helen remained an active, vibrant lady during her 93 years. She was active in her church and sang in many choirs over the years and was a longtime member of the Blenheim UCW.
Those years were also filled with many car trips to many arenas and golf courses for her three boys.
She enjoyed playing golf and was an active member of the Blenheim Community Golf Course for many years.
In her later years, she also loved watching hockey, baseball and golf along with the occasional casino trip with her friends.
A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim with Jim Stirling officiating. The Celebration will be Live Streamed at 1:30pm on Thursday, August 27, 2020 on the funeral home website. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
Those wishing to make a memorial tribute to Helen are asked to consider the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation or Pet and Wildlife Rescue as per Helen’s wishes, which can be made through the Funeral Home.
