Age 79 of Bedford NS, passed away peacefully at the Halifax Hospice on Thursday September 17, 2020 with Danny by her side.
Joyce was born in Halifax to the late Charlie and Grace (Shiers) Hurshman. She was a long time employee of the Province of Nova Scotia from where she retired and enjoyed many happy and healthy years doing all the things she loved.
Joyce is survived by her husband and best friend Danny, daughter Jane (Marc, Erin and Emily) Nilsson, St. John NB, who held a special place in Joyce’s heart; brother Fred, Sackville NS; step-son Daniel (Stephanie), Calgary Ab; step-daughter Helena and step-granddaughter Geneva, Sackville NS; life-long friend Pat Bowers, nephews Shane and Kevin and several great nieces and nephews.
Joyce will be sadly missed by all of us. Though she won’t be right here when we need her, she will forever be in our hearts. She gave us all a little lesson somewhere along the road that we will carry with us forever. Her greatest wish was that every animal was free from abuse and neglect and gave her own animals the love and care she so strongly believed in. The many hours that she and Danny spent talking and listening to music will carry on as a memory of how truly happy she was. No regrets!
A Graveside service will be held at 1pm Friday September 25, 2020 in Fernwood Cemetery, Middle Sackville. Please abide by Covid regulations by social distancing and wearing masks.
