Aunt Helen as she was known to her nieces and nephews lived a long and interesting life. As a young woman, she decided to enlist in the RCAF during World War II where she worked as an Aerial Photographer. Following the war, she embarked on a new career as a nurse. This led her to the position of Nursing Administrator at Grand Falls hospital. After this successful career, her devotion to her aging parents brought her back to Hant’s Harbour to provide for their care until their passing. She continued as a faithful member of the United Church there and a devout UCW member and member of the senior citizens club as long as she was able. Aunt Helen’s knowledge and views on various subject areas were much respected by those who knew her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Green’s Funeral home, Winterton. Donations in her memory will be gratefully accepted to the Hants Harbour United Church Cemetery Fund. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov 25 at 2:00pm from Greens funeral home by INVITATION ONLY due to Covid restrictions. Interment to follow at the United Church cemetery, Hants Harbour.
