1928-2020
The death occurred at the Western Hospital, Alberton, on
Monday, June 15, 2020, of Gordon Rusell Leard, beloved husband of Leta
Margaret (nee Hudson) Leard of Summerside, and formerly of Fortune
Cove, PEI, age 91 years. Born at Fortune Cove, PEI, on
December 29, 2020, he was the son of the late G. Russell and Clara
(nee Lockerby) Leard.
Loving father to Susan Leard of Cornwall and Allan Leard
(Deceased 1980). Cherished grandfather to Tina (Dennis) Zaccagnini of
Calgary, AB, Kevin Leard of Halifax, Heidi (Chad) Deagle of Hunter
River, and Dave Hardy of Vancouver, B.C. Great-grandfather to Olivia
and Victoria Zaccagnini and Cadence and Ruby Deagle. Dear
uncle to Sylvia Yeo of Summerside, Anna Semple of Kensington, Earl
Leard of Fortune Cove, John (Patti) Leard of Oakville, ON. Cathy Leard
of Oakville, ON, Bill Leard of Yellowknife, BC. He is also survived by
his nieces and nephews of the Hudson Family. He is also survived by brothers
and sister-in-law, Ted (Jean) Hudson of Cascumpec, Arthur (late
Lillian) Hudson of Summerside, Jean Hudson Murphy of Edmonton,
AB.
He was predeceased by brothers, William Leard, Kenneth (late
Edith) Leard and Rev. Earl (Elinor) Leard.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, from
where a private family visitation and funeral will be held, Rev.
Robert Lockhart officiating. Interment in the Cascumpec United Church
Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy memorial to the CNIB or to the
Alzheimer Society would be gratefully appreciated.
