Obituary of Gerald Marvyn Thomas
THOMAS- Gerald Marvyn “Gerry”
Passed away peacefully, at home on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Violet Vince-Thomas. Lovingly remembered by his children Susan Thomas (Manny Rodrigues), Christine Hodgkinson (Jeff), David Thomas (Michelle), Teddi Thomas (Greg Martinow) and Erik Thomas. Will be sadly missed by his 11 grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Lorry Bradley. He will be greatly missed by his faithful chocolate lab Tanner. Gerry was a devoted family man, who loved the outdoors – cottage life, canoeing, hiking, camping and gardening. He was a member of the Bancroft Horticultural Society. He was known for his endless list of projects and his passion for chocolate chip cookies and red wine. He retired in 2016 after a successful 40 year career with Hussmann. Friends may pay their respects to the family at the McCLEISTER FUNERAL HOME, 495 Park Road N. Brantford on Thursday. January 23, 2020 from 12-1 pm. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 1pm. A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held for Gerry at Faraday Trout Lake on Sunday June 21, 2020 for lake friends and neighbours, (details will be shared in the spring).
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Ontario Parks or the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation (Cancer Care). Memories or condolences may be shared with the family at www.mccleisterfuneralhome.ca.
