Georgina Evelyn (nee Crone (Brooks)) Hughes of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, in her 88th year.
Wife of the late Max Hughes. Mother of Larry Brooks of Listowel, Debbie & Neil Mack of Listowel, and Peggy & Rae Wells of Durham, and remembered by their father Bill Brooks. Mother-in-law of Darlene Brooks, and Ann Brooks.
Grandmother of Charlene and Murray, Steven, Scott and Nancy, David and Jessica, Sarah and Shawn, and Brian, great-grandmother of 8, and loved by her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Stepmother of Barbara Smith of Bobcaygeon, and Bonnie & Jim Regele of Listowel.
Predeceased by her parents George and Myrtle (Richards) Crone, her sons Douglas and William, sisters Eunice and Myrna, and by her brother Milton.
Georgina was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel, where she was a tireless volunteer that was always ready and happy to help. She also served as the Girl Guide Commissioner for many years, and volunteered with the V.O.N.
Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, visitors must schedule a time to attend on the funeral home website by selecting RSVP (below) or by calling the funeral home at 519-291-4840. Everyone attending must wear a mask.
A private family funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel on Friday, November 27th at 11:00 a.m. The service will be recorded and the link available on the funeral home website.
Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
