Peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2020 at LHSC University Hospital at the age of 98. George was born on December 22, 1921 in Croatia. Beloved husband of Milka (Rukavina) Tonkovic. Loving father of Jenny (Marko), Katy, and George John. Predeceased by his parents and five siblings and their spouses in Croatia. Survived by many relatives in Canada and Croatia. George will always be remembered, loved and missed by his family and friends. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Sunday, July 5th from either 2-3 o’clock or 3:30-4:30 o’clock. Due to Covid restrictions as per the Bereavement Authority of Ontario a limited number of people are able to attend each visitation period. Please email donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca or call 519 434-2708 for availability. Prayers Sunday at 3:30. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Catholic Church, 2889 Westminster Drive, on Monday morning, July 6th at 10 o’clock. Please arrive early as contact tracing will need to be recorded. Due to Covid regulations 90 people are able to attend. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery to follow with attendance limited to 50 people as per government regulations.
