Dickie – 63, East
Mountain, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 31, 2020, at
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Bridgewater, she
was the daughter of the late George and Olive (Durrant)
Zinck.
Gail was active in Union Issues (Privatization, Political
Action, Contract Issues for Nova Scotia Correctional Officers in the
80s and 90s) Gail helped her husband start Palaton Security in 1999
and was active in retail security as well as security for East Hants
Rural High school for over 15 years. She was there for the students
and always had a stick of gum for the students and a shoulder to lean
on in times of need. Gail loved her pet dogs, Duke and
Ted.
Gail is survived by her husband, Tony; sons, Jacob (Mara),
Edmonton, Alberta; Thomas, Truro; brother, William
“Bill” Zinck (Ida Rogers), Londonderry. Along with
her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Gary (Dorothy)
Zinck.
Private family interment will be held at a later date in Pine
Grove Cemetery, East Stewiacke.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. If so desired, donations
in Gail’s memory to Diabetes Canada are welcomed. Private
