Gail Leslie Lawrence (née Jones)
1954 – 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gail on Wednesday, February 26 surrounded by the love of her family.
Cherished wife of Stuart for 45 years. Loving mother of Rachel (David Belanger) and Alyssa (Jonathan Harding). Proud Grandma of Brooklyn and Sloan Belanger and Olivia and Hailey Harding.
Gail will be missed by her brother Alan Jones (Blanca Rojas) and her brother-in-law Howard Leibovitch (Christina) as well as her many friends and extended family members.
A special thank you to Dr. Hacker and Nurse June, her health care providers, for their care and compassion.
Gail loved music, singing and acting. Whether working for or alongside other actors, she thoroughly enjoyed being apart of the talent industry. She was a mentor to other actors who were starting their careers and she invested a lot of her time helping them flourish.
To her friends, Gail was always a positive and social person. She never missed a game of mah-jongg and was always willing to go sing Karaoke. She was a good listener and was always willing to go the extra mile to help a friend in need.
A private interment will be held at the Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.
In lieu of flowers, Gail would be honoured to have donations in her memory made out to the Canadian Cancer Society.
