Florence M. McLellan 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Northside General Hospital.
The daughter of the late Bond and Myrtle Rideout, she was born on Belle Island, Newfoundland, August 30, 1926 but lived most of her life in Sydney Mines.
Besides her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband
Ellsworth McLellan, sisters Loretta MacKinnon and Margaret Ford, brothers Fred, Kay, Val and Don Rideout. She was also predeceased by her daughter-in-law Laureen Jenkins, best friend Dorothy Mouland and several nieces and nephews.
Florence was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Eleanor (David Wilson) Truro, Wendy, Kathy (John Scott) Sydney Mines. She was a loving grandmother/great grandmother to Sarah, Jamie, Abby and Jay Thornham, Erin, Dwayne, Madelyn and Lauren Wilson-Fanning, and Katie, Cameron, Piper and Lauchie Morrison. She will also be missed by her sister Bernice Rideout, sisters in law Dolores Rideout and Theresa Aylward, numerous nieces and nephews including special nieces: Sherry MacNeil and Pam Carter.
Our mom loved gatherings with family and friends, music, nature and all creatures great and small. She maintained a keen sense of humor, interest in current events and unwavering loyalty to the Toronto Maple Leaf’s. She was a gifted storyteller with an amazing memory and attention to detail. Mom was our world and we will love and miss her forever.

If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Carman United Church or the SPCA.
There will be no visitation. A private funeral service will be held at Carman United Church, Sydney Mines with COVID-19 restrictions in place. Interment in Brookside Cemetery
