RYAN, Eleanor Georgina – Age 87
years, Canso. Passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in the
Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Eleanor was born on
July 24, 1933 in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George
and Irene (Horne) Blackwood.
Eleanor was a member of the Star of the Sea Parish, Canso.
She was also a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies
Auxiliary, Branch 46 Canso, a member of the Shamrock Club and a member
of the Ladies Auxiliary of Canso Hazel Hill Fire
Department.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Donny) Misener,
Dartmouth; Janet (Sam) Delory, Hazel Hill; 7 grandchildren; 16
great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was
predeceased by her husband Francis, son-in-infancy, George and
daughter, Theresa.
At this time the family would like to thank the staff at
Milford Haven Home for Special Care for all their care of
mom.
In keeping with Covid-19 guidelines,
all attendees will be asked to provide their names and telephone
numbers upon arrival at the funeral home and the church.
Social distancing protocols are to be followed and masks are
mandatory.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September
27th from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held at
11 a.m. Monday, September 28th from Star of the
Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Jonathan
Nnajiofor officiating. Burial to follow in the
parish cemetery.
Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations may be made
in memory of Eleanor to Star of the Sea Parish, Canso or Milford Haven
Home for Special Care, Guysborough. Words of comfort may be forwarded
