Elaine Mary Davison Reilly 19332020

Elaine Mary Davison (Reilly)
1933-2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the
passing of our incredible mother, Elaine, on Saturday, April 18, 2020
at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, NB. Born in Port Elgin in 1933,
Elaine was the daughter of the late Amos Reilly and Myrtle (Johnson)
Reilly. She was the loving wife of the late George
Davison.
Mom was primarily an awesome mother, but
she was also so much more. She worked at Atlantic Wholesalers, a
caregiver, store clerk, and cook. During our childhood
years, she organized a Youth Bowling league by herself that many Port
Elgin participants will still fondly remember. As an
organizer she was instrumental in many events in Port Elgin including
the annual Terry Fox Run, Rick Hansen Man in Motion Tour, Summer
Breezes, Winter Carnival, National Fitness Challenge, Fitweek
Committee, Celebration 88 for Westmorland area, Olympic Torch
Committee, and Port Elgin 66th birthday celebration. For
many years she served as a Town Councillor in Port Elgin and worked
tirelessly raising funds for the construction of the Westford Nursing
Home which became her final home.
Mom lived a fulfilled life and was
content knowing her life’s work was done. She is
at peace resting beside her loving sons Greg and Randy, husband
George, mother Myrtle and her beloved kitty Muffin.
Elaine will be sadly missed by her
children, Debbie (Doug) Gray, Jimi (Marlene) Trenholm, Natalie
(Darrell) Munro, Janice (Robert Lang) Briggs, and Shane (Michelle)
LeBlanc; sister Joan (Taylor). She will also be missed by
her grandchildren Kelly, Jennifer, Tanya, Tonia, Jayme, Greg,
Rebeccah, Melissa, Christopher, and Hanna; great grandchildren Dylan,
Lalla, Graysen, Harlow, Gage, Gabe, Ember and Hayes.
Besides her parents, Elaine was
predeceased by her sons, Greg and Randy and her brothers Albert,
Donnie, and James.
We wish to thank the incredible nurses
and staff at Westford Nursing Home, especially Jessica and Leah who
were her greatest advocates. When she went to live at
Westford, she felt like more than a resident; to her, you all quickly
became family. She told us often she loved all of you and
told you herself. Because of the care that was so tenderly
given, donations can be made to the Westford Nursing Home in her
honor.
You were an amazing person to so many,
and now it is time for you to start your new journey. We
love you so much Mom.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, Port
Elgin, NB (506-364-1300). A celebration of Elaine’s
life will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 2 pm at the funeral
home in Port Elgin. Due to
Covid-19 restrictions, this service will be by-invitation-only but
