Peacefully at Marianhill Residence on Saturday January 18, 2020 at the age of 87 years. Earl Alfred Saar of Pembroke beloved husband of the late Shirley Saar (nee Passaw). Loved and cherished father of Richard Saar (Marguerite), Cobden, Steven Saar (Jodie), Donald Saar (Jane), April Cancade ( late Chris) and John Saar all of Pembroke. Loving Papa to Adam, Amy, Laura, Valkyrie, Kristen, Luke, Derek, Jacob, Jonah, Kaylee, Dylan and Joshua and great grandchildren, James, Kate, Leah and Noah. Dear brother of Delta Neville (late Charles), Ottawa, and the late Sylvia Sampson. Brother-in-law of C.V. Sampson, Nova Scotia and Norma James of Louisiana. Earl will be sadly missed by all his nieces and nephews. Son of the late Alfred and Esther (nee Biederman) Saar. Earl was the owner of Stonebrook Farm where he raised dairy cattle and buffalo. He was supervisor in Algonquin Park for Shaw Lumber, Director of the Ontario Milk Marketing Board, Councillor for Stafford Township, Board of Directors Ontario Federation of Agriculture, member of the Canadian Lumberman’s Association and the Eastern Ontario Sawmill Association. Friends are invited to share their memories of Earl with her family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Wednesday 2- 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate Earl’s Life and faith will be held on Thursday January 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church Locksley. Spring Interment Grace Lutheran Cemetery. In memory of Earl, donations to Grace Lutheran Church, Locksley, would be appreciated by the family.
