Our gentle giant passed away at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on Saturday, May 23rd, 2020 after a brief illness. He leaves his best friend and beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Joanne (Geddes). Loving father to Laurie (Jan) and David (Sarah). Adored Grandad of Georgina and Ned. Loving son of the late Lorraine and Grant Farrow. Brother to Lynda (Brian) and Janis (Mel). Brother-in-Law to Ron (Adrienne), David, Cathy (Dale) and the late Ed. Uncle to seven nieces.
Lee attended Port Credit High School where he excelled in sports and carried wisdom from his beloved football coach, Nick Volpe, throughout his life. He played Toronto Varsity Blues Football and was scouted by the Montreal Alouettes.
Lee graduated from the University of Toronto Dental School. He practised dentistry in Mississauga for forty-five years where he and his respected associate, Dr. Tom Williams, set up Willow Dental. Lee was beloved by his patients who enjoyed his relaxing humming and whistling. He regarded his patients as extended family and loved every day treating them.
Lee’s second home for over fifty years was the Mississaugua Golf and Country Club. “The Doc” valued his many golfing friends and staff and enjoyed many golf trips overseas where he was always the reliable driver. Lee enjoyed the camaraderie of the Rob Roy Trout Club and earlier family times at the Caledon Ski Club.
Lee’s credo was “It costs nothing to be kind” and his generous acts of kindness are known to many. He was a man of few words, but a good listener. Lee had a beautiful bass voice and loved singing. He and Joanne enjoyed many musical events together. Lee and Jo enjoyed traveling, especially the many fabulous road trips throughout Europe.
The greater the love, the greater the loss. He will be missed.
