Dr. Derek John Pearce
June 03, 1934 – October 20, 2020

June 3, 1934 – October 20, 2020
Dr. Derek John Pearce, 86, passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2020. He is predeceased by his parents Henry and Constance Pearce. He is survived by his children and grandchildren. Born in 1934 in Bristol, England, Derek graduated from Cardiff University medical school in 1964 and became a member of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1976. He emigrated to Canada in 1978 and settled in Stephenville, NL in 1981. It is here he spent most of his career as a physician. He began his medical service as an obstetrician and gynecologist before transitioning into general practice. Derek enjoyed travelling, managing to visit many “bucket list” locations in his retirement years. He was also an avid baseball fan, regularly taking trips to see his beloved Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Expos in person. In his later years, when not travelling, he spent his winter months in St. Pete Beach, FL and his summer months in Eastern Passage, NS. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Eastern Passage, NS would be appreciated.
