Obituary of Dona Jeanne Plumton
PLUMTON, Dona Jeanne, RN., passed away at Quinte Gardens Retirement Residence, Belleville, on September 29, 2020. Daughter of the late Bessie (nee Badgley) and Arthur Plumton. Dona is survived by two sisters, Kathleen (Kit) Bronson, of Belleville, and Peggy Harder of Trenton, and two sisters in law, Diane, of Belleville, and Hilda of Peterborough, and by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, George, Clarence, Douglas, and Floyd, and by brothers-in-law, Maitland Harder and Harry Bronson. Dona was a career nurse, and worked at numerous hospitals. She was a nursing supervisor with Quinte Health Care for many years. She was an avid supporter and long-time member of St. Mark’s United Church in Cannifton, and she volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society. Due to restrictions because of Covid-19, there will be no public visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at Stockdale Cemetery later this week. Memorial Donations to Quin-mo-lac Camp in Madoc www.canadahelps.org/en/, St Mark’s United Church, or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273).
