David’s Obituary
KING, David Arthur – Born in Middleton, Annapolis Co. on November 3, 1944, died peacefully at home in Morris Island, Yarmouth Co., with family at his side on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the age of 75. At the age of 1 ½, Dave moved to Cape Forchu, where his father was the lighthouse keeper. At the age of 18, he moved to Bunkner’s Island where he took over as lighthouse keeper for his dad. He later moved to Bridgetown, where he bought a farm and also worked at United Elastic. He later moved to Annapolis Royal where he worked as a jail keeper. His final move took him to Morris Island and became a fisherman until he retired. He was involved in the community where he became a volunteer firefighter from day one. He was also on the board of directors for Le Club Social des Îles and was a Boy Scout leader as well as a little league baseball coach. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Earl Albert and May Chantal (Comeau) King. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley Ann (Muise) King, as well as by a daughter, Sandra (Kirk) Reede, East Pubnico and Joe King (Angela Cassino), Nanaimo, BC, along with grandchildren, Steven Crosby, Melissa Crosby, Caleb King, Colby King and Brae King. Also surviving are brothers, Bobby (Joyce) King, Middleton and Eddy (Peggy) King, Paradise. Funeral services will only be held at a later date due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Memorial donations may be made to the Gilles Boudreau and Friends Cancer Help Fund or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to H.M.
