Connie A Pierce November 26 2020

Obituary
It is with sad, yet peaceful hearts that we said goodbye to our mother, Connie Pierce (nee London) on November 26, 2020 at Bobby’s Hospice. She was looking forward to joining her loving husband, the late Harvey (Lenny) Pierce, her parents Emily (Chase) and Gerald London and other cherished family members. Connie was born in Saint John on June 30, 1946.
Connie is fondly remembered by all who knew her because of her kind heart, easy going manner and loving personality. Ever present was her sense of humour and you could always count on her quick wit and comedic timing to add flavour to any conversation.
Connie had a resolve within, that propelled her through difficult times. As a young wife and mother with three children under the age of five, Connie and Harvey were faced with, what would become, a lifelong renal illness for Harvey, which resulted in decades of dialysis both at home and in hospital. Connie became an early advocate in NB for home renal dialysis. For years she cared for Harvey in their home, along with raising their young family. This was a tremendous feat of understanding and balancing the operation of very sensitive medical equipment and technology, to the everyday responsibilities of life. She embraced this unexpected hurdle and continued to ensure the well being of all. She truly was an inspiration to her family and friends. As her three oldest children grew, they were joined by a younger brother and those four siblings became a close knit group of friends, had many successes throughout their lives and supported one another. She was the best Nanny to her eight grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Connie is survived by her four children: Mary Pierce (Michel Lavallee) Ottawa; Len Pierce (Nancy St-Hilaire) Toronto; Trevor Pierce (Charlotte McGill) Rothesay; Robert Pierce (Quispamsis); her adoring grandchildren; Emily Brown (Sudbury); Pierce Brown (Ottawa); Anna, Tom, Henry, Bridget and Charlie Pierce (Rothesay); Tori Pierce (Quispamsis); her sisters Linda (Jean-Guy Chouinard) Saint John; Nellie McSwain (Hamilton); her loving cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Besides her husband and parents, Connie is predeceased by her sisters, Deanie London (age 5) and Geraldine McLellan; brothers William and Gerald London and her aunt, Nellie Alberts, whom she affectionately called Gram.
Connie wished to express her sincere gratitude to her loving cousin, Gayle Buckley, to whom she referred as her special angel. Gayle was able to be present with her over the last couple of years and most recently during her time at Bobby’s Hospice. They shared a similar sense of humour and loved to take little adventures together. The family is very grateful for the wonderful care Connie received at Pettingill Manor and most recently at Bobby’s Hospice. A special thank you to Mindy Thibodeau at Pettingill Manor, Dr. Lay her doctor for several years, all the wonderful staff at Bobby’s Hospice and to all Connie’s caregivers.
A celebration of Connie’s life will take place at a later date.
Donations in memory of Connie may be made to Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of your choice.
