La célébration de
Charles Olshefsky
11 décembre 1930 –
10 novembre 2020
Charles passed in his sleep and is now reunited in eternity with his beloved bride Vera. The twinkle in his eye along with his infectious smile melted the hearts of many but he only belonged to one. Dad was a gentleman in every sense of the word. If there was any swearing in the home, it came out of mom’s mouth, not his.
We will always cherish our years spent together with seasons tickets to the Montreal Alouettes during the Calvillo era. Every time Mike Pringle carried the ball and failed to score a touchdown, Dad’s inherent optimism would automatically wane, and he would raise his arms above his head and shout “here we go again”. It didn’t matter that the home team was up by several points, he wanted victory. After mum passed, we would enjoy weekend afternoons watching sports at his new pad on his big screen TV. There was always a cold one in the fridge for his boys and their friends.
The two sons lost their number one status as soon as his first granddaughter, his “princess”, arrived. Their status was further diminished by the arrival of 2 more grandchildren and then finally hit rock bottom when his great-granddaughter was born.
Charlie had a pretty good run and will be deeply missed by his two sons Bill (Joyce) & Tom (Lucie), three grandchildren Alexandra (David), Andrei, Elisaveta and great-granddaughter Olivia.
A special thank you goes out to the entire 6th floor team at Maimonides for the exemplary care provided to Charles during the last 2 years. Many laughs were enjoyed by all.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at Mount Royal Funeral Complex on Friday November 20, 2020 at 11am. However, for those who would like to attend virtually, a link is available for live memorial and rebroadcast at funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/19546. Password 13297.
