Hoffman, Bruno F.:
Passed away with family by his side, on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Emma (nee Lehr). Loving father of Robert (Doris) and Andrew (Pamela). Cherished grandpa of Ethan and Tanner. Dear brother of Lucy Daase (late Edward) and Hermann Hoffmann (late Ortrud). Brother-in-law of Henry Lehr. Predeceased by his parents, Ferdinand and Marie.
Bruno was born October 12, 1936 in Tallinn, Estonia. He left Estonia for Poland in 1939. In January 1945, he moved to Heiningen, Germany and emigrated to Canada in 1957. In 1963, he married Emma Lehr and together they had two sons.
Bruno was longtime teacher at University Heights Secondary School and coached soccer for many seasons in the high school system as well as in the minor soccer system in Waterloo. He was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church (now Trillium Lutheran Church), Waterloo and a member of Retired Business and Professional Men’s Club.
Private cremation has taken place and his memorial service will be held at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 when coronavirus restrictions are lifted.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Parkinson Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
