Beverley Ann Mumby 1932 2020

Obituary of Beverley Ann Mumby
Friday October 9th, 2020, peacefully entered into rest at the age of 88 years in her home. Predeceased by her husband John (Sam) Mumby and son Gary (BB) Mumby (Susan surviving). Survived by her family Gregory (Shirley), Gail Carr (Don), Bonnie Milligan (Bryce), Janet Wright (Bob), Jill Troke (Randy), Joel, Rick (Trena), Shelley Bowes (Brian), Lori Cooney (Bill), Lynn Weaver (Kevin), Kirk (Kelly). Loving Grandmother of 16 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
Born at home and raised in Stirling with 4 siblings, where Beverley also met Sam and together they were blessed with a large family.
Bev would welcome all visitors (and there were MANY) into her home whatever the time of day and enjoy socializing, eating or drinking, especially on “thirsty Thursdays.” She loved to see all the vehicles in her driveway and on the boulevard that would show up for the shenanigans.
There wasn’t a day that Bev wouldn’t get up, properly start the day and apply her makeup (“warpaint”) to her face. This ritual has had a profound and lasting effect on her daughters who carry her legacy.
The kitchen was a very familiar place where Beverley could create meal miracles and home made baking goods that could always be found under the glass dome. The large wooden table in the kitchen would host many participants and vast personalities, that would see a range of problems being solved, anywhere from proper posture to world politics.
A list of favourite things and places for Bev included Wellers Bay, enjoying sun, sand and water always with kids in tow and on various watercraft, homemade or otherwise. Music moved her and held a special place in her heart, especially the male singers. There were always tunes playing on the radio or stereo. Beverley wasn’t a world traveller, one reason is because she never held a driver’s and it wasn’t required to get to the kitchen, but of all the places in the world her HOME, was the best place of all. It’s where she was herself, where she raised her family, where her life was the fullest.
A reminder to Bev’s family on the Thanksgiving holiday of how many turkeys cooked over her 88 years will be a loving reminder to her daughters that will carry on the tradition.
Beverley’s Legacy of Life marks the end of era. She was the last living member of her paternal Ingram family as well as her married Mumby family. Her life was full as she lived through difficult times, as well as so much joy. Bev’s unique life which spanned more than eight decades, has and will continue to inspire her family and extended family for years to come.
Bev’s wishes were cremation and due to Covid 19 restrictions, the family will hold a private graveside service.
Donations to the Trenton Memorial Foundation (Dialysis Unit specifically) would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements entrusted to the Steele Funeral Home.
