It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Bang Jin (Maria) Kim on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at the age of 81 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 55 years, Won Ki, her children, Sabina (Wayne) and Paul (Cesidia), her grandchildren, Justin and Alex and her two older sisters.
Maria will also be missed by numerous family members and friends across Canada, United States and South Korea.
Maria was a courageous, strong, gracious and generous person who was devoted to her family, friends and her faith. She emigrated from South Korea to Canada with her husband and a young family in 1975 to build a new life here. They worked tirelessly to have a successful business and a loving home as well as forming lasting friendships.
Maria loved gardening and taking long quiet walks in nature with her husband, playing golf with her sisters and friends, reading classical literature and sharing meals with her friends and family. Her faith was also very important as she prayed the Rosary right until her death. But Maria’s greatest pride and joy were her two grandchildren, Justin and Alex.
We would like to thank the staff, especially the nurses of Main South at George Derby, for looking after Bang Jin Maria this past year and a half.
Bang Jin Maria Kim will be deeply missed and will be in our hearts forever.
Due to Covid, it will be a private Catholic Mass for the immediate family only.
