Antoinette “Netty” Van Der Loo
1927-2019
Peacefully on Sunday, December 15 at Mount Hope LTC at the
age of 92 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Casey six
months earlier. Both were born in Udenhout, Netherlands,
Netty on April 5, 1927 to Johannes Josephus and Petronella Maria (de
Rooij) Brekelmans. They emigrated to Canada in 1952, residing one
winter in Thedford before settling in London,
Ontario.
Loving mother of Johanna (deceased infant), Joan (Ken),
Jerry, Ken (deceased first wife Bushra, Nusrat) and Stephan. Dear Oma
of Scott, Lindsey (Brad) and Nikolas; Leigh, Jennifer and Elizabeth;
Tariq (Euriklida) and Aisha; Cameron, Sean and Joseph; Owen and
Cassandra. Opoe to Elise, Charlie, Fletcher and Audrey.
Last survivor of eleven Brekelmans children, Anny (d-Wim),
Jos, Jan (d-Agnes), Anton, her twin Alphons (d-Ans), Trees (Ties),
Gerry (d-Cor), Nel, Joost and Greet (d-Piet). Remembered by her many
nieces and nephews in Canada, Netherlands and United
States.
Mom was an intelligent, loving woman who was devoted to her
family. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends in her home. Mom
and Dad were the first of both families to come to Canada.
They sponsored five siblings and their spouses in their home
and helped them become established in Canada. She enjoyed
taking us on camping trips throughout Canada, visiting family in
Netherlands and wintering in Arizona. Her grandchildren always brought
a smile to her face when they visited her at Mount Hope. Mom will be
dearly missed.

Surrounded by family, interment took place at the grave site
December 27, 2019 at St. Peter’s Cemetery,
London. She now rests with her devoted
husband.
