Ann Mackenzie Thursday November 12th 2020

Peacefully in Squamish, BC on Thursday, November 12th, 2020 following a short battle with cancer. Predeceased by husband Dr. Thomas Alexander Mackenzie, Ann was a loving mother to her children Kate, Rob and Sara (Nate). Adored grandmother, “G-Ma” of Isla, Ryder, and Maddex. “Anzie” to sisters Trish (Chuck) Nancy (Dave), who were a central part of her life. She will be missed by sisters in law Elizabeth (Rob) and Ann. Predeceased by dear friend Peter, she will be fondly remembered by his family.
She pursued nursing at Queen’s University and remained in Kingston until departing for Squamish B.C. in February 2020 to be near Sara and Kate. She was devoted to her career however family and friends were her life. She enjoyed hosting gatherings and pursuing artistic projects where she developed community with ease because of her friendly, warm, and compassionate nature.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, November 28th. The service will be streamed online and will also be recorded for those who are unable to attend. Please email Squamish Funeral Chapel at info@squamishfuneralchapel.com to receive a link to view the service online.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Squamish General Hospital and Hilltop Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. Your consideration and kindness will always be remembered.
As expressions of sympathy, memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
