It is with great sorrow that the family of Allister Francis Sim announces his passing at the age of 88 years, on Sunday, December 20, 2020. He will be greatly missed by his sons: Blair (Maureen), Michael (Fior), Bruce (Lise); his daughters: Sherry Robineau (predeceased Dan), and Cathy Mikolajewski (Andrew); his 14 grandchildren: Derek (Kimberley), Craig, Robert, Kevin Robineau (Dominique), predeceased Dean Robineau (Kaylee), Tyler (Wendy), Keaton Morgan (Gary), Cole, Courtney, Adele, Mark Mikolajewski, Sean Mikolajewski, Myana Conrad (Travis), Max (Jenna); his 11 great-grandchildren: Charlie, Lily, Keelan, Zoee, Piper, Nash, Gracie, Isla, Beau, Aurora, and Archer.
Born in Rivière Qui Barre, Alberta on March 16, 1932. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Adelle, his mother Eliza, father Charles, and his Scottish-born siblings: Charles, Agnes Christie (Bill), Christina Townsend (Matt), William “Bill” (Gladys), as well as his Canadian-born siblings: Beatrice Bourque (Louis), George (Ruth), Winnifred Thompson. He is survived by his youngest brother Ron (Anne) of Edmonton, AB; brother-in-law Ken Thompson of Westlock, AB; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His occupation as a Drill Stem Tester with Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Company had him working in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and out of country in Iran, while making a homestead on an acreage in South Edmonton, AB. Taking a different line of work with TransCanada Pipelines Ltd. brought him and his family to Kapuskasing in Northern Ontario. Upon retirement, he became a hobbyist in woodworking projects and pottery.
With family and friends across Canada, Adelle and Allister always set aside the time to visit them during their beloved road trips.

Special thanks to family members, the doctors, nurses and staff at the Sensenbrenner Hospital, as well as the health care team in the community for all their care and support.

C’est avec grande tristesse que la famille d’Allister Francis Sim annonce son décès à l’âge de 88 ans, le dimanche 20 décembre 2020. Il manquera beaucoup à ses fils : Blair (Maureen), Michael (Fior), Bruce (Lise); ses filles : Sherry Robineau (Dan prédécédé), et Cathy Mikolajewski (Andrew); et ses quatorze petits-enfants : Derek (Kimberley), Craig, Robert, Kevin Robineau (Dominique), prédécédé Dean Robineau (Kaylee), Tyler (Wendy), Keaton Morgan (Gary), Cole, Courtney, Adele, Mark Mikolajewski, Sean Mikolajewski, Myana Conrad (Travis), Max (Jenna); ainsi que ses onze arrière-petits-enfants : Charlie, Lily, Keelan, Zoee, Piper, Nash, Gracie, Isla, Beau, Aurora, Archer.
Né à Rivière Qui Barre, Alberta le 16 mars 1932. Il fut prédécédé par son épouse bien-aimée, Adelle; sa mère, Eliza; son père, Charles; ses sœurs et frères nés en Écosse : Charles, Agnes Christie (Bill), Christina Townsend (Matt), William “Bill” (Gladys); de même que ses sœurs et frères nés au Canada : Beatrice Bourque (Louis), George (Ruth), Winnifred Thompson. Lui survivent son frère cadet, Ron (Anne) d’Edmonton, AB; son beau-frère Ken Thompson de Westlock, AB; et de nombreux neveux et nièces.
Son occupation comme conducteur d’essais aux tiges, à l’emploi de la Halliburton Oil Well Cementing Company, l’ont mené au travail en Alberta, Saskatchewan et Manitoba; ainsi qu’hors du pays – en Iran, tout en établissant une propriété familiale rurale à South Edmonton, AB. L’adoption d’une nouvelle occupation à l’emploi de TransCanada Pipelines Ltd. a conduit Allister et sa famille à Kapuskasing, dans le Nord de l’Ontario. Lors de sa retraite, il est devenu un amateur de projets de travail du bois et de poterie.
Ayant famille et amis dispersés au Canada, Adelle et Allister ont toujours trouvé le temps de visiter ces gens lors de leurs bien-aimées escapades routières.

Remerciements particuliers aux membres de la famille, les médecins, infirmières et infirmiers, et le personnel de l’Hôpital Sensenbrenner Hospital, de même que l’équipe de soins de santé de la communauté pour leur soutien et les soins prodigués.
