Memorial Donation
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother Ada Barbara MacDonald (Chiavari) of Port Hawkesbury, at the age of 88, which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital on December 7, 2020 after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Mike and Olive Chiavari.
She is survived by her life partner George Paddon; daughters Carol (Jim) Johnson; Mary (Gordon) Sheppard; sons, Rod (Brenda); Billy (Sherri); John (Pat); 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren.
Ada was predeceased by father of her children, Rod MacDonald and son Collie (Joanne); sister, Carolena; brothers, Joe (Sonny), James Carroll (Chum).
We would like to express our gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Strait Richmond Hospital for their special care and kindness and to Patsy Johnston for her friendship and support during our mother’s illness.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 11:00am -1:00pm at Greens Funeral Home, 507 Bernard St., Port Hawkesbury with a service to follow; Deacon Berkley Guthro officiating and a private family graveside service to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard St., Port Hawkesbury.
