Obituary of Theresa Eleanor Smith
SMITH, Theresa Eleanor (nee Murphy)
Of Kitchener, passed away on December 15, 2019 at Hospice Wellington, Guelph at the age of 90.
Theresa was born on a farm in Millvale, Prince Edward Island to Leaming Murphy and Alice May Carr on March 6, 1929. She was the youngest of eight surviving children. She moved to Kitchener where she married Carl Smith. They raised five children in Waterloo, and she is survived by them, William, Ronald, Jeanie, Maureen, and Luanne. Mom was predeceased by Dad in 1998. She was the proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She would truly do anything for her family.
Theresa was an independent, thoughtful person who was well-regarded by everyone she encountered. She was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Kitchener. An animal lover, skilled knitter, family archivist and an excellent speller.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Hospice Wellington, Grand River Hospital, Cancer Centre and Father Raphael Ma for the excellent care and comfort which they gave to our mom.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 49 Blueridge Avenue, Kitchener on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Cremation will have taken place and interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
