Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, surrounded by her loving family and friends, on Sunday, December 22nd, 2019, at the age of 90. Predeceased by her loving husband John; parents William and Mary Kavanagh; parents-in-law Patrick and Catherine Carroll; brothers Jack (Lucy), Solomon (Ruth), Gregory, and James; sisters Helena Gosse (John), and Ann Martin (Alex); brothers-in-law Richard (Emma), Thomas (Mabel), James (Martha), and Joseph; sisters-in-law Margaret Kinsella (Bernard), and Catherine Rogers (Joseph). Leaving to mourn daughters Joan Allen (Kevin – deceased), and Donna Steeves (Danny – deceased); son Joe (Marie); sister Josephine Newell (Dick); sister-in-law Theresa O’Brien (Thomas – deceased); nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; her roommate Noreen Walsh; and many friends at the North Pond Manor in Torbay. The family would like to thank the staff of North Pond Manor, and the nursing staff and doctors of 6th Floor West, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital for their kindness and compassion. The family will be receiving visitors at Caul’s Funeral Home in Torbay on Thursday, Dec. 26th from 2-9 pm, and Friday, Dec. 27th from 12-9 pm. Funeral Mass to take place at Holy Trinity Church in Torbay on Saturday, Dec. 28th, 2019 at 10 am, with interment to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bauline Line, Torbay. Flowers graciously accepted or donations came be made on her behalf to the Janeway Foundation.
