Sam Saskin
Surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, in his ninety-eighth year. Beloved husband of the late Sally Rakita. Devoted father and father-in-law of Eda Saskin and Steve Laing, Howard and Sandy Saskin. Cherished grandfather of Stefan and Heather Hood, Lee and Pete Elkins, the late Danny Hood; Adam and Tammy Saskin, Avi and Jenn Saskin. Proud great-grandfather of Maggie, Callum, Jack, Max, Zoe, Mikey and Sunny. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ann and Morris Hoffman, the late Ben and the late Rita Saskin, the late Betty and the late Harry Zitomir; and brother-in-law of David and the late Helen Rakita, the late Mike and the late Evelyn Rakita, the late Louis and the late Tiny Rakita. Sam will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and all who knew him. Sincere gratitude to the exceptional and caring staff of Unit 2A at the Ste. Anne Veterans’ Hospital, and to Sam’s devoted caregiver, Jane Fiske.
