Percy’s Obituary
Pierce, Percy Bertram-68, of Jordan Bay, Shelburne County, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport, with his wife Gloria (Dodds) Pierce of 44 years by his side. Percy resided in Surf Lodge , contentedly, for the past six months. Percy was born in Sandy Point on May 27, 1951 .Percy spent his working years as meat manager at Sobey’s until he retired in 2003 following his first brain tumor. Percy will be remembered as a quiet background person with a warm smile and his strong faith. He is survived by daughter, Jo-Lana (Peter) Cunningham; sons, Corey (Cara Dawn) Pierce, and their children, Brooklyn and Layla; Nolan ( Elysse Burton) Pierce; sister, Marjorie (Gregg) Dodds. He was predeceased by his parents Melvin and Sadie (Toole) Pierce. Percy will be missed by his special sisters and brothers-in-law as well as many dear friends whom he cherished. Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 30 at 1:00 pm in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Chapel, 58 Bulkley Street, Shelburne followed by the funeral service at 2pm. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Jordan Bay. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Tri-County Victorian Order of Nurses or Surf Lodge Nursing Home. The family would like to thank the Victorian Order of Nurses and staff at Surf Lodge for their compassionate and excellent care. A reception will follow in the funeral home following the service.
