It is with great sadness the family of Olive Adams (nee Cochrane) announce her passing peacefully on December 20, 2019 with her family surrounding her at the age of 107.

In her life you would most likely find her in a curling rink, a bingo hall or the Selkirk Legion, where she had been the President of the Woman’s auxiliary. You would also find her sitting in the warm sun listening to music and doing a crossword, playing cards, skating on the Selkirk slough or travelling by train to one of the beaches with her family. Special times for her was when she sat around the piano singing or dancing with friends or family, sitting at in the Peter’s Old Stone Church where her mom played the organ and singing Christmas hymns, and sharing time with her family and friends.
In her younger years she worked with her father, Captain Hugh Cochrane, on the steam ships travelling from Norway House to Winnipeg, as a health care aid at Denver hospital before marrying Chappie. After marriage as a sales clerk for Riftkins women’s clothing store, and after the war she worked at Booth fisheries in Selkirk until her retirement.
